Best father-son combo in sports history

by admin

I was out of the loop last week and am still playing catch-up, so please bear with me. Last week, Brett Hull was voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Is there any doubt that Bobby Hull and Brett Hull represent the greatest father-son combination in the history of sports? I don’t think so.

I can’t think of any father-son combo who even comes close. Can you?

Brett Hull is third in National Hockey League history with 741 goals.

His father, Bobby Hull, is 15th, with 610 goals. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. Bobby Hull jumped to the upstart rival World Hockey Association in the prime of his career and scored 335 goals for the Winnipeg Jets before the WHA folded and the Jets were absorbed into the NHL. That’s 895 goals in Bobby Hull’s NHL/WHL career.

Whether you want to count Bobby Hull’s WHA goals or not, the Hulls are the greatest father-son combo in sports history.

I could not agree with you more. Bobby and Brett are the best father/son duo in sports history. I mean when you have similar nicknames, then you’re bound to be a solid father/son pair. The Golden Jet and Golden Brett are true legends. I think Bobby will be playing poker with his fans and other sports pros in the Bahamas. Maybe Brett will join them and they’ll have a friendly father/son poker competition.

Brett Hull is really the reason I got into hockey because I never really liked it until I saw him play. I can’t believe Brett joined his father in the Hall of Fame! I wonder if Brett will join Bobby Hull at the legends sports challenge too? Congrats Brett!
